  Lee Courtnage Lee Edmund Courtnage, 85, of Albuquerque, formerly of Waterloo/Cedar Falls IA, passed away Friday, January 5, 2018 at home. During his career, he earned his doctorate in special education and was a professor at the University of Northern Iowa. Lee also served in the Army for two years in the 1950s. Upon retirement in Albuquerque, he volunteered with the Veterans History Project and interviewed hundreds of veterans. Lee was born in 1932 and was the son of the late Ted and Edna Courtnage. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Henrietta. Lee was the devoted father to Steve (Kim), Kelly (Mark), Kara, and Shawn; stepfather to Ellen (Dave), Laura (Craig), Diane and Linda (Dima); adoring grandfather to Steven, Jr., Kaylin, Tyler, Corey, Jordan, Keri, Mike, Elisa, Stacey, Janet, Doug, Rachel, and Evan; and eight great-grandchildren. Lee is also survived by brothers, Larry and Ray; and he was preceded in death by brothers, Don and Allen. Friends may visit one hour prior to the Funeral Service Wednesday, January 10, 2018, 11:00 a.m. FRENCH â€" Lomas. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery Congregation Albert Section, 700 Yale Blvd SE.
