Location:

The University of Northern Iowa is located in Cedar Falls, Iowa, at the intersection of College Street and University Avenue. Visitor parking can sometimes be difficult to locate. However, there is a parking lot (Baker lot) just south of the Rod Library with ample handicap parking and a fair number of meters.  There is also a large metered parking lot just north of the Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center on University Avenue.  The Conference and Visitor Center at 27th Street and Hudson Road can often give advice on visitor parking. Please visit the campus parking webpage for more information, including parking maps.

The Rod Library is located west of the Maucker Union and east of the Campanile. Special Collections and University Archives is located in the northwest corner of the third level of the Rod Library.

The Special Collections reading room is open for service during weekdays during the fall and spring terms (times listed above). Hours of service may vary during holiday periods and interims between terms.  We encourage you to make an appointment and consult the staff before your visit at libarchives@uni.edu. Additionally, you may schedule an appointment with SC&UA faculty and staff at https://uni.libcal.com/appointments/scua.  Please note that virtual appointments are available.
