Lee D. Myers

May 18, 1984 TO:Deans, Directors, Department Heads, and Physical Plant Staff FROM: John D. Mixsell, Personnel Director Lee D. Myers, 60, power plant chief operator at the University of Northern Iowa, died of pulmonary lung disease at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota, at 3:00 a.m. today. Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m. on Monday, at Richardson's Funeral Home in Cedar Falls and burial will be at Garden of Memories in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be from 1:00 - 9:00 p.m. on Sunday. Mr. Myers was employed by UNI in 1955 as a turbine operator in the Power Plant. He has been disabled since 1980. Lee was born January 22, 1924, the son of John and Irene Myers. He married Dorothy Marie Harrison on November 8, 1941, at Papillion, Nebraska. Lee Meyers is survived by his wife, Dorothy; three children, Mrs. Randy Combs (Cathy), Cedar Falls; Diane Siebrands, Vinton; and Mrs. Paul Retterath (Nancy), Finchford. Also surviving Mr. Myers are two brothers, Tommy Myers, Parkersburg, and Clyde Myers, Salt Lake City, Utah; and a half-sister, Sally VerSteeg, Cedar Falls.
