K. Carleen Shepherd

K. Carleen Shepherd, 59, of Iowa City, formerly of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, June 27, 1998, at home after a lengthy illness. She was born in Gage County, Nebraska, daughter of Carl J. and Kathryn M. Smith Frahm. She married Torn Shepherd on December 27, 1959, in Hanover, Kansas. A graduate of Westmar College, LeMars, Mrs. Shepherd taught for several years, was employed by the University of Northern Iowa from 1982 to 1991, and worked at the University of Iowa until retiring in 1996. She was a founding member of the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Habitat for Humanity. Survived by: her husband; two sons, Daniel of Rock Island, Illinois, and Joel of Chicago; a daughter, Hailee of Rock Island, Illinois; her mother of Hanover; a brother, Robert Frahm of Wichita, Kansas; and a sister, Jeanette McGrann of Scottsdale, Arizona. Preceded in death by: her father. Services: will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, Iowa City. Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service, Iowa City, was in charge of arrangements.
