Jvone E. Lowrie Maxwell

Jvone E. Maxwell of Waterloo died February 8, 2005, at the Western Home Communities, Cedar Falls. She was born March 6, 1914, in Lehigh, daughter of James E. and Emma J. Hanson Lowrie. She married James W. Maxwell on March 14, 1942, in Waterloo. He died September 5, 1986. Mrs. Maxwell received her bachelor's degree in music from Iowa State. Teachers College (UNI) in 1936, and received her master of music from the American Conservatory of Music, Chicago, in 1940. She had been employed at the University of Northern Iowa from 1940 until retiring in 1978 as an associate professor of piano. Also from 1988 to 1999 she worked as assistant volunteer coordinator at Cedar Valley Hospice. Survived by: a cousin, Mary Willy of Portal, Arizona. Memorial services: 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Timothy United Methodist Church, Cedar Falls, with inurnment later in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be no visitation, her body has been deeded to the University of Iowa, Iowa City. Richardson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
