Mrs. Bessie Mae Derby, retired secretary to the College of Education, passed away Sunday, September 24, 1978, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.
Bessie joined the staff at UNI in 1954 and retired in 1970 but continued to work on a part time basis until August 1973. Before coming to UNI, she worked as the office manager for Collard Dodge.
Bessie is survived by her husband, Lyndon.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday, September 27, 2:00 p.m. at the Kearns-Dykeman Chapel. Memorial gifts may be given to the Cedar Falls Women's Club.
The flag will be flown at half-mast during the time of memorial services.
