Mr. Arend J. Abbas, custodian at Dancer Hall, passed away Saturday, August 30, 1975, at Allen Hospital.
Mr. Abbas joined the staff of the University on August 19, 1969. His wife, Marian, started working at the University on that same date and is currently working as a seamstress in the dormitory service. In addition to his regular duties, Mr. Abbas served as a member and chairman of the Student Services Committee from October 1970 to October 1973.
Prior to coming to the University, Mr. Abbas farmed in the Ackley area and worked as a technician for the Artificial Breeders Association in Iowa and Minnesota.
Services for Mr. Abbas were on Monday, September 1, 1975, at the Parkersburg Christian Reformed Church with burial in the Ackley Christian Reformed Cemetery.
