Ardys L. Meyer Stickfort

       Ardys Stickfort with her husband Willis Ardys L. Stickfort, 72, of Reinbeck, died Sunday, January 30, 2005, at Grundy County Memorial Hospital, Grundy Center, from complications of cancer. She was born August 7, 1932, on her family's farm near Stout, daughter of Oscar and Ora Harrenstein Meyer. On September 14, 1963, she married Willis Allen Stickfort. He died August 4, 2002. Mrs. Stickfort graduated from New Hartford High School in 1951. As a young woman she worked as the secretary in the Home Economics Department at the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, for ten years. She was later employed part-time at the Country Closet and at the Antique School House, both in Reinbeck. Survivors include: three sons, Allen M., and Brent W. (Robin), both of Reinbeck, and Aric M. (Elizabeth) of Stout; a daughter, Brenda Stickfort of Reinbeck; four grandchildren; a sister, Loris (Herluf) Prostine of Cedar Falls; a sister-in-law, Darlene Mulder of Grundy Center; and a brother-in-law, Erwin Stickfort of Cedar Falls. Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Stout Gospel Hall, Stout, with burial at 1:30 p.m. in Reinbeck Cemetery, Reinbeck. Friends may call any time after 10 a.m. Tuesday at Hand Funeral Home, Reinbeck, with family present 5 to 8 p.m. Memorial fund: is being established.
