Velma Marie Coen

Velma Marie Coen, 86, of Mesa, Arizona, formerly of Cedar Falls, died at home Sunday, May 28, 2000, of natural causes. She was born March 10, 1914, in Charles City, daughter of Raymond and Ina Wiltse Rodamaker.  She married Clyde A. Coen on October 29, 1938, in Charles City.  He died September 9, 1999. Mrs. Coen retired in 1970 from the University of Northern Iowa at Northern University High School. Survived by:  four daughters, Sandra Hickman of Las Vegas, Doris Schmitt of Ankeny, Linda Wical of Culpepper, Virginia, and Reva Tegtmeier of Glendale, Arizona; two sons, Lyle of Cedar Falls and Neil of Mesa; fourteen grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by: a sister, Irma Rash; a stepsister; three stepbrothers; and a great-grandson. Services:  10 a.m. Friday at Richardson Funeral Home, with burial in Fairview Cemetery.  Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today and for an hour before services Friday at the funeral home.
