Robert "Bob" M. Sheridan, 71, of Cedar Falls, died Friday May 24, 2002, at Finley Hospital in Dubuque, of a brain aneurysm. He was born March 19, 1931, in Hampton, son of Percy and Eunice Jones Sapp. He married Donna Jeanne Peirce August 5, 1950, in Algona. He was employed in the office of Titus Manufacturing for nineteen years, then with the University of Northern Iowa, as payroll supervisor for about ten years. He was later employed by Nuclear Imaging and currently was a distributor for the Chicago Tribune. Mr. Sheridan was a founder of Snap-On Credit Union in Algona and Powers Employees Credit Union in Waterloo and served on the Board of Titus Employees and UNI Credit Unions. He was active as a member of the Cedar Valley Sertoma Club, holding many positions including President in 1977. He was twice honored as a Sertoman of the Year in 1977 and 1988. He volunteered as a mentor at Grant Elementary School. He was actively involved in First Congregational Church. He was a Scoutmaster of Troop 42, Cedar Falls, for six years. He is survived by his wife; two sons and their spouses, David and Leslie Sheridan of Urbandale and Richard "Dick" and Wendy Sheridan of Mildenhall, England; two daughters and their spouses, Virginia "Ginni" and Doug Casteel of Waterloo and Rebecca "Becky" and Todd Ellison of Cedar Falls; twelve grandchildren and their spouses, Bradley Casteel of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Brandon and Michelle Casteel of Ormond Beach, Florida, Emily Sheridan and Ben Sheridan, both of Urbandale, Alison and Albert McFadden of Waterloo, Josh Kleitsch, Meghan Kleitsch, Eric Ellison, and Christine Ellison, all of Cedar Falls, Rachael Sheridan of Columbia, Missouri, and Sarah Sheridan and Christopher Sheridan, both of Mildenhall, England; a great-grandchild, Jackson McFadden of Waterloo; and a sister, Bunnie Lou Lorentz of Bessemer City, North Carolina.. Preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, James P. Sheridan; a brother, James E. Sheridan; and a sister, Judy Sheridan. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First Congregational Church, Waterloo, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery Cedar Falls. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Hagarty Waychoff Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, and also for an hour before services at the church on Thursday.
