Three drown in Des Moines River
HUMBOLDT (AP) - Humboldt County authorities Thursday night recovered the body of one man and the life jackets of two others, from the Des Moines River, south of Humboldt.
The body of Reggie Lynn Tate, 40, of Madison, Wisconsin, was recovered about 200 yards from the Corn Belt Power Dam.
Dragging operations for the other two men, Ronald Tate, 37, and Stacy Tate, 18, both of rural Goldfield, were to resume this morning.
The three set out on a canoe at Lake Nakomis at Humboldt Thursday morning.
Bill Bloom of rural Fort Dodge spotted an empty canoe floating downstream near Fort Dodge later in the day and notified authorities.
Two life jackets were recovered below the dam. Reggie L. Tate was still wearing his life jacket when his body was recovered.
