Lewis E. Glenn

TO:  Faculty and Staff FROM:  Philip L. Patton, University Registrar DATE:  August 17, 1994 Lewis E. Glenn, 78, an Emeritus Associate Registrar of Scheduling, died Sunday, July 24, 1994. He was born on July 10, 1916, in Des Moines, Iowa, a son of Lewis Ray and Mary Ida Tingley Glenn.  He married Phyllis T. Turner on October 29, 1938, in Des Moines. Lewis joined the Registrar's Office in 1966 as an Assistant Registrar, upon his retirement from an earlier career with the FBI.  He was the first UNI staff member with full-time assignments in student registration and scheduling.  He served in this capacity until his retirement from UNI in 1979.  Lewis will be remembered for his loyalty to the University and to his staff and colleagues, and the diligence demonstrated in his work. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; a son, Richard L. of Cedar Falls; a daughter, Jean Glenn of Lubbock, Texas; and a grandson. Memorial services were conducted at the First Presbyterian Church on Thursday, July 28th. Memorials may be directed to the Salvation Army or the Black Hawk Humane Society.
