LaVerne "Andy" Andreesen   LaVerne William Andreessen, 70, of Waverly, died Thursday, April 9, 2009, at his home. He was born December 1, 1938, in Cedar Falls, son of William J. and Emma A. Meester Andreessen.  On August 3, 1968, he married Donna Jean Robinson in Sheffield. He graduated from Dike High School in 1957 and received his B. A. from Iowa State Teachers College (UNI) in 1961.  He also earned his M. A. from State College of Iowa (UNI) in 1966. Mr. Andreessen worked for the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad, taught business at West Delaware High School, Manchester, and worked for the Illinois Central Railroad.  He later became an accounting assistant professor at UNI College of Business Administration, was a CPA for Gosling & Co., controller for Hutchison Lumber Company, and professor of accounting at Wartburg College, Waverly. From 1980 to the present, he was assistant professor of accounting at UNI, receiving professor emeritus status in 2007. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Waverly. Survived by:  his wife; two daughters, Rebecca Sue (Larry) Gardemann of Vinton and Nicole Lynn Andreessen of Waverly; a brother, Lowell D. (Patricia) of Reedsburg, Wisconsin; a stepsister, Shirley (Larry) Spain of Godfrey, Illinois; and a stepsister-in-law, Colleen Janssen of Petersburg, Illinois. Preceded in death by: a stepbrother, Vernon Janssen. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Waverly.  Public visitation from 3 to 7 p.m. today at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home; Waverly, and for an hour before services Monday at the church.
