D., Director, University Health Services Dr. Kenneth Wayne Caldwell, 66, of Warsaw, Illinois, formerly of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, January 5, 2000, at the University of Iowa Hospitals, Iowa City, of natural causes. He was born September 19, 1933, in Rome, Iowa, son of Wayne Edward and Ethel Fern Gholson Caldwell. He married Sandra Anne Petted on January 7, 1973, in Newton. He was currently employed by Correctional Medical Systems of St. Louis and was serving as medical director at the Iowa State Penitentiary. From 1977 to 1994, he was employed by the University of Northern Iowa Student Health Center as a staff physician. He served as director of the Student Health Center from 1977-1984. He was director of Sports Medicine. He also was a medical consultant and a contract physician for the Naval and Marine Corps Reserve Center, Waterloo, from 1987 to 1994. He is survived by his wife; two sons, Kenneth Wayne Caldwell, Jr., of Iowa City and Quinn Edward Caldwell of Mount Pleasant; three daughters, Mary Jane Caldwell of Coon Rapids and Erin Careen Lopez and Amy Elizabeth Caldwell, both of Warsaw; and four grandchildren. An infant sister, Mary Jane Caldwell, preceded him in death. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Private graveside services were held Saturday, January 8, at the White Oak Cemetery, Rome.
