Obituary for Joan E. Diamond Joan E. Diamond (1929-2017) CEDAR FALLS – Joan E. Diamond, 87, of Cedar Falls died Tuesday, January 10, 2017. She was born February 3, 1929 in Galesburg, Illinois, daughter of William and Bertha (Davis) Englund. She married Saul Diamond on August 14, 1965 in Cedar Falls. He died June 12, 2014. She received her BA degree in Education from Knox College and MA in Library Science from the University of Illinois. She retired in 1990 from the University of Northern Iowa where she was an Assistant Professor and Librarian at Malcolm Price Laboratory School. Survived by: three nieces, Laura Pacenti of Peoria, AZ, Jane Malone of Sun City West, AZ, and Karen Cates of Mesa, AZ; and one nephew, William LePaz of Coburg, Oregon. Preceded in death by: two sisters, Wilma Englund Grimm and Beverly Englund Private family burial was held in Fairview in Cedar Falls. Memorials may be directed to the Western Home Foundation or Northeast Iowa Food Bank.
