Joan B. Poe, 69, of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, September 12, 2001, at Allen Hospital of natural causes. She was born June 9, 1932, in Cedar Falls, daughter of Stanley and Norma Blecke Seroke. She married Ellsworth L. Poe on September 15, 1951, in Cedar Falls. He died September 18, 1971. Mrs. Poe received her teaching certificate from Iowa State Teachers College. She was president of Standard Distributing Company and Crystal Distribution Services. She also had served as president of the Allen Memorial Hospital Foundation; was past president of both the Board of Junior Achievement and the University of Northern Iowa Alumni Association; was director of Norwest Bank, Cedar Falls; and was co-chairperson of the Grout Museum Financial Campaign. Survived. by: four sons, Stanley of Cedar Rapids, and David, Thomas, and Michael, all of Cedar Falls; two daughters, Melinda Fitzgerald of Minneapolis and Susan Pelleymounter of Cedar Falls; and 20 grandchildren. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. John Lutheran Church; with burial at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p:m. today at Dahl-VanHove-Schoof Funeral and Cremation Service, and for an hour before services Monday at the church.
