Flora L. Holm Gettle

Flora L. Holm Gettle, 82, of Keystone Nursing Care Center, Keystone, formerly of Elberon and Cedar Falls, died at the center Sunday, May 11, 2003. She was born February 1, 1921, in Nashua, daughter of Archie H. and Bertha M. Bartlett Crandall. She married the Reverend Lloyd L. Holm on September 17, 1938, in Nashua. He died June 7, 1982. She married Herbert A. Gettle on November 16, 1985, in Cedar Falls. Mrs. Gettle was a secretary in the English department at Iowa State Teachers College, the principal's office at Northern University High School, at Viking Pump Company, at Latta's School Supplies, then managed Horizon Towers. Survivors include: her husband of Elberon; three sons, Larry L. (Jane) Holm of Newport Beach, California, Ronald L. (Carolyn) Holm of Fort Collins, Colorado, arid the Reverend David J. (Laurie) Holm of Waterloo; two stepdaughters, Linda (Vern) Damm of Stewart, Minnesota, and Jeanne (Jon) Larson of Westby, Wisconsin; three stepsons, Doug (Christy) Gettle of Virginia, Minnesota, Richard (Linda) Gettle of Elberon and Randy (Victoria) Gettle of Mankato, Minnesota; nineteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marian Jean Behrens of Iowa Falls. Preceded in death by: four brothers, Edwin, A. Burton, Howard, and Richard Crandall; and a sister, Margaret Larrabee. Services: 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Cedar Bible Church, with burial in Hillside Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
