Carol Joyce Hutchison, 64, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, June 17, 2005, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo, of complications from pancreatic cancer.
She was born December 28, 1940, in Burlington, daughter of Arthur Monroe and Erma Irene Bryant Carpenter. She married William Henry Leider in July 1961 in San Antonio, and they were later divorced. She then married Joel F. Hutchison on January 6, 1996, in Waverly.
She received her B. A. degree in history from the University of Northern Iowa in 2000. She had been employed as secretary in the chemistry department at UNI, retiring in December 2000. Survivors include: her husband; two sons, David W. (Jane) Leider of Tacoma, Washington, and Stephen J. (Ilona) Leider of Anchorage, Alaska; a daughter, Susan D. (Michael) Curry of Plano, Texas; two granddaughters; and a brother, Donald (Becky) Carpenter of Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Preceded in death by: her parents.
Services: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church, Morning Sun, with burial in the Morning Sun Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Richardson Funeral Home, and for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.
