Anthony E. Kerns, 33, died on Tuesday, June 16, 1992.
Tony began his career at UNI on August 26, 1985, and worked as a building services coordinator at the time of his death.
Services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call on the family from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, July 19, at the Oppold-Hagarty Funeral Home in Waterloo, and also an hour before the service at the church on Saturday.
Tony was born on April 4, 1959, in Waterloo, son of Richard and Darlene Bernard Kerns. He married Robin Shepard on March 29, 1980, in Waterloo.
Survivors include his wife, Robin, daughter, Jessica, and son, Ryan of Waterloo; father and step-mother, Richard and Joanie of Waterloo; two brothers, David and Steven, both of Waterloo; five sisters, Lisa Hadaway of Sheldahl, Ann Bumgartner, Beth Sadd, Julie Jensen, and Kathy Faley, all of Waterloo; three step-sisters, Keri Kafer of Cedar Rapids, Jill Kafer of Waterloo, and Jennifer Schmitz of Johnston; maternal grandparents, Edward and Marie Bernard of Waterloo; paternal grandmother, Letha Kerns of Oelwein; and paternal step-grandparents, Paul and Barbara Schares of Gilbertville. Tony was preceded in death by his mother, Darlene, and his paternal grandfather, Laurence Kerns.
Memorials may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran School.
