Willard L. Child, 82, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, November 13, 2003, at Bickford Cottage. He was born March 2, 1921, near Masonville, son of Ray and Sarah Carrothers Child. He married Emily Sacks on October 10, 1944, in Kansas City, Missouri. She died December 30, 1993.
Mr. Child farmed until 1959 and owned and operated the Barn Cafe in Dike for a year. He then was employed by the University of Northern Iowa in the maintenance department and later as a truck driver for the power plant.
Survived by: a son, Gary (Diana) of New Hartford; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: three infant daughters; and a sister.
Services: 2 p.m. Monday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with inurnment at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery, Masonville. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. today and for an hour before services Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial fund: will be established.
