Theodore R. Hovet

Theodore Hovet, formerly of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, July 18, 2009, at St. Thomas' Hospital in London, England. Theodore was born in Buxton, North Dakota, in 1935. He received degrees from Mayville State College, the University of Minnesota, and the University of Kansas. He married the former Grace Ann ONeill in 1963. Dr. Hovet taught in the English department of the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls for thirty years. He received many honors for his scholarship, his service, and especially his teaching. He retired with his wife to North Carolina in 2000, and had been a resident at the Forest at Duke in Durham since 2004. He passed away of natural causes while traveling in London with his son. He is preceded in death by his wife, Grace Ann. He is survived by his son, Ted, Jr., and daughter-in-law, Barbara Beck, of Bowling Green, Kentucky.
