Samuel J. Skarich, 57, of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, July 26, 2000, at Sartori Memorial Hospital of natural causes.
He was born December 2, 1942, in Minnesota, son of Samuel and Mildred Kerzich Skarich. He married Geraldine Fritch on July 1, 1967, in Chicago, Illinois.
Mr. Skarich earned bachelor and master of arts degrees from the University of Notre Dame in Indiana. He was former men's assistant basketball coach at the University of Northern Iowa.
Survived by: his wife; two sons, Sam of Bloomington, Illinois, and Kevin of Ames; a daughter, Kate Skarich of Kalamazoo, Michigan; a brother, Bill of Moose Lake, Minnesota; and a sister, Mary Jean Kniefel of Eveleth, Minnesota.
Preceded in death by: his parents. Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at Orchard Hill Reformed Church, under the auspices of First Evangelical Free Church, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Friends may call for an hour before services Saturday at the church. Richardson Funeral Horne is in charge of arrangements.
