Robert G. Wolfensperger

Robert G. Wolfensperger, 85, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, October 27, 2004, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home. He was born May 3, 1919, in New Hartford, son of Robert and Myra Morton Wolfensperger.  He married Alice S. Weltzin on July 10, 1945, in Waterloo. Mr. Wolfensperger graduated from New Hartford High School.  He was employed by the Benson Creamery.  From 1952 until retiring in 1981, he was turbine operator in the powerhouse at the University of Northern Iowa.  He also owned and operated Bob's Carpet Cleaners.  During World War II, he served in the U. S. Army in the European theater. Survivors include:  his wife, two sons, Perry G. (Audrey) of Waverly and Charles D. (Tim) of Clearlake Oaks, California; two daughters, Vicky R. (Jim) Omundson of Bondurant and Barb J. (Gary) Carlson of Raymond; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by: a grandson; two brothers, Harlan and Wendell; and a sister, Emer Rockwood. Memorial services: 11 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church, Cedar Falls, with inurnment in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens at a later date.  The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.  Richardson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
