Allen, Benefits Coordinator SUBJECT: Obituary Notice DATE: November 20, 1996 Merlyn Heidt, 66, of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, November 17, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo, of natural causes. Merlyn began his career at UNI in 1975 as the Greenhouse and Landscape Maintenance Foreman. He was the Greenhouse Coordinator when he retired in 1996. He was born July 12, 1930, in Lucas, South Dakota, son of Linus and Marie Martha Roggow Heidt. He married Margie Darlene Storm on June 23, 1951, in Jackson, Minnesota. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Linda Marie Loomis of New Hartford and Debi Bunger of Waterloo; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Don of Breezy Point, Minnesota, and Irwin of Tucson, Arizona; and a sister, Lois Bunkofske of Swea City. He was preceded in death by a grandchild. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Cornerstone Fellowship Church in Waterloo with burial in Fairview Cemetery.
