Mary Beckman and friend Mary Green Beckman, 87, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, December 27, 2010, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo. She was born September 4, 1923, in Rome, Italy, daughter of William Isaac and Jane Wedgewood Green. She married Malcolm Beckman in 1952 and he preceded her in death. She earned her B. M. degree at Oberlin Conservatory of Music and her M. M. from Cleveland Institute of Music. She was a professor of harp and music at the University of Northern Iowa for many years. Survived by: seven nieces and nephews; and six great-nieces and great-nephews. Memorial services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Cedar Falls, with inurnment in Rose Hill Cemetery, Grundy Center. Richardson Funeral Service is assisting the family.
