Joseph H. Pearce Jr.

                Joseph Pearce, Jr. Joseph H. Pearce, Jr., 88, of Waterloo, died Friday, October 7, 2011, at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Waterloo. He was born November 9, 1922, in Eldora, son of Joseph Pearce, Sr., and Ora M. Williams Pearce.  He married Joan E. Kelleher July 27, 1947, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.  She died November 5, 1998. He was a decorated veteran of World War lI, having served in the Anti-Tank Company, 143rd Infantry of the U. S. Army.  He was employed at the University of Northern Iowa from 1953-1986, retiring as environmental control foreman. Survived by:  two sons, Joseph (Connie) III of Slater and James of Des Moines; a daughter, Nancy (Ken) Foss of Evansdale; four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and a brother, Don of Waterloo. Preceded in death by:  three brothers, George, Charley, and Harry; and five sisters, Pauline Ducklow, Lucille Fulk, Mary Shiplick, Darlene May, and Betty in infancy. Services:  10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Washington Chapel United Methodist Church, with burial in Washington Chapel Cemetery.  Military Honors will be conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49.  Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m Monday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.
