Jan Kae Harken, 58, of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, September 13, 2005, at St Mary's Hospital, Rochester. She had been living at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Waterloo.
She was born July 7, 1947, in Waterloo, daughter of Jacob C. and Maxene E. Elliott Harken.
Ms. Harken attended the University of Dubuque from 1965-1966 and the University of Northern Iowa from 1966-1969. She was a department secretary for the Department of Modern Languages at UNI for more than twenty-four years, retiring in 1994.
Survived by: aunts and cousins.
Preceded in death by: her parents.
Services: There will be no services or visitation; her body was donated to the University of Iowa Hospitals, Iowa City. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery. Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Care for Ms. Harken for the last nine months was given by Bev Dirksen of Guardian Angels Services, Iowa Falls.
