                                                             ​                Homer Culley Homer E. Culley, 95, of Sioux City died Wednesday, June 9, 2010, at Touchstone Living Center following a brief illness. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Memorial Park Cemetery, with the Reverend Ralph Shorey of Faith Lutheran Church officiating.  There will be no visitation.  Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Homer was born June 1, 1915, in Cedar Falls, Iowa, on the Iowa State Teachers College (now known as University of Northern Iowa) campus, in the home of the university president, Homer E. Seerley, his grandfather.  He was the son of Claude E. and Esther L. (Seerley) Culley.  He graduated from Le Mars (Iowa) Central High School in 1933 and the National Business Training School in Sioux City. He married Esther E. Scheel on November 17, 1940, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sioux City, where they were members until transferring to Faith Lutheran Church in 1959.  She preceded him in death in March 2008 after sixty-eight years of marriage. He owned his own accounting firm until his retirement in March 1998. He continued to work from his home until 2003. His faith was exhibited to others as he served in the Lutheran Layman's League, numerous church offices, and projects throughout his life. Survivors include four sons, Dennis and the late, Marva Culley of Union City, California, Linn and Barb Culley of Sioux City, Stanton Culley of Le Mars, Iowa, and Mark and Deb Culley of Kansas City, Missouri; three grandsons, Brad and Linda Culley, Chris and Joni Culley, and Adam and Emily Culley; and four great-grandchildren, Josiah and Noah, Emerson and Avery. .
