      Fred Bentley Fred H. Bentley, Sr., 79, of Waterloo, died Monday, January 10, 2011, at Manor Care Nursing and Rehab Center of natural causes. He was born March 18, 1931, in Waterloo, son of LeRoy and Ida Stremke Bentley.  He married Donna Morehouse on January 10, 1953, in Waterloo. Mr. Bentley served in the U.S. Army and was a member of AMVETS Post 19.  He worked construction in plastering and cement work, and retired from the grounds maintenance department at the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls. Survived by:  his wife; two sons, Fred, Jr. (Vickie) and Thomas (Vicki), both of Waterloo; a granddaughter, Carissa Merrick; a great-granddaughter, Abby Merrick; two brothers, Russell (Olga) of Waterloo and Forrest (Carol) of Prosper, Texas; and two sisters, Anne Everding of Denver and Louise Dietz of Cedar Falls. Preceded in death by:  a sister, Bernice Pierce; and four brothers, Wallace, Roger, Herbert, and Herman. Services: 10 a.m. Friday at Garden View Chapel, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery.  Graveside military rites will be conducted by Waterloo AMVETS Post 19.  Public visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday and for an hour before services Friday at the chapel.
