Eugene W. "Gene" Arnold, 74, died at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo on Monday, October 24, 1988. Gene began working at UNI in 1971 and was Storekeeper III in the Physical Education Center. He retired in July, 1982, after an extended disability.
Memorial services were held at 11:00 a.m. on October 26 at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls with burial in the Greenwood Cemetery.
Gene was born March 8, 1914, in Alicia, Arkansas, son of Harry E. and Lydia McConnell Petersen. He married Alice Tow on January 19, 1936.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Kay Marie Heaton of San Luis Obispo, California, and Judy Wiley of Fayetteville, Arkansas; two sons, James of Fayetteville, and Gene, Jr., of Shell Beach, California; ten grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home.
