November 8, 1983 TO: Deans, Directors, and Dept. Heads FROM: John D. Mixsell, Personnel Director Ervin Jokumsen died of cancer Sunday evening at his home (1210 West Ninth Street, Cedar Falls). Mr. Jokumsen began work at UNI in February 1963, and retired in December 1976. He worked as a power plant repairman in the Plant Services Department. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church with burial at Fairview Cemetery in Cedar Falls. Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements where friends may call after 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The family suggests memorials to Bethlehem Lutheran Church and Cedar Valley Hospice. Mr. Jokumsen was born January 19, 1913, in Denmark, son of Chris and Dorothea Christiansen Jokumsen. He married Vivian Lindberg January 31, 1941, in Des Moines. He is survived by his wife; a son, Steve of Cedar Falls; a daughter, Mrs. Carol Schaefer of Waterloo; four grandchildren; a brother, J. Elmer of Cedar Falls; three sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Poduska of Springfield, Virginia, Mrs. Alice Marshall of Grass Valley, California, and Mrs. Ann Stocker of Cedar Falls.
