Edward J. Miller, 59, of 429 E. State Street, Dike, died on Saturday afternoon, November 23, of cancer. Mr. Miller began work at UNI in August, 1979, as a custodian in Plant Services and worked in Seerley Hall on the second shift.
Mr. Miller was born on April 22, 1926, in Wellsburg, the son of John and Rena Miller. He married Patsy Wittren on June 21, 1953. Mr. Miller was a member of the American Legion for 40 years and served as a Dike volunteer firefighter for 29 years.
Edward is survived by his wife, Patsy; two sons, Marcus and Byron of Dike; and a daughter, Mrs. Suzanne Lechtenberg of Dysart.
Services for Mr. Miller will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 26, at United Methodist Church, Dike, Iowa, with burial in the Elmwood Cemetery at Dike. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Dike Funeral Chapel and prior to the services on Tuesday at the church. A memorial fund has been established.
