                   Dorothy Michel April 17, 1970 FORMER UNI FACULTY MEMBER DIES IN SALT LAKE CITY Word has been received of the April 11 death of former University of Northern Iowa faculty member Miss Dorothy Michel in Salt Lake City. Miss Michel taught women's physical education at UNI from 1928-46 and was visiting associate professor here during the 1968-69 school year. A resident of Minneapolis prior to her death, she served as head of the women's physical education department at Macalester College in St. Paul from 1946-68. Miss Michel earned the B.S. degree from the University of Minnesota in 1924 and the M.A. degree from Columbia University in 1931. Prior to serving on the UNI faculty she taught physical education at high schools in Gilbert, Minnesota, and Gary, Indiana. She is survived by a brother, Dr. Henry Michel of Minneapolis. Memorial services for Miss Michel will be held in Minneapolis at a date to be announced later. Memorial services for Miss Dorothy Michel, former Cedar Falls resident and member of the faculty of the Department of Physical Education for Women at the University of Northern Iowa, will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Judson Memorial Baptist Church, Minneapolis. Miss Michel died in Salt Lake City, Utah, April 11. She taught at the University of Northern Iowa from 1928 to 1946, and was visiting associate professor of physical education during the school year of 1968-1969. From 1946 to 1968 she was Head of the Department of Physical Education for Women at Macalester College, St. Paul, Minnesota.
