Delores I. Boesen, 86, of Parkview Gardens Nursing and Rehab Center, died Sunday, April 8, 2001, at Covenant Medical Center, of natural causes.
She was born July 2, 1914, in Waterloo, daughter of John S. and Catherine Gleason Pyle. She married Clifford E. Boesen on November. 11, 1940, in Waterloo. He died October 6, 1994. Mrs. Boesen graduated from Gates Business College and was employed as a secretary for many years, including positions in Washington, D. C., Midland, Texas, and Waterloo/Cedar Falls, retiring from the University of Northern Iowa in 1977.
Survived by: two sons, Stephen B. of Fairbank and Terry L. of Waterloo; two daughters, Sandy Townsend and Penny Boesen, both of Waterloo; ten grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Edward's Catholic Church, with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball, where there will be a 7 p.m. vigil service.
Memorials: may be directed to the church or Columbus High School.
