Westcott, 59, of Waterloo, died Friday, April 12, 1996, at Allen Memorial Hospital of cancer. Darlene began her career at UNI in 1989 as a Custodian I. She held this position until she became disabled in 1992. She was born May 2, 1936, in Decorah, daughter of Walter W. and Marie M. Lang Van Brocklin. She married Daryl E. Westcott on January 5, 1953, in Fayette. Survivors include her husband; a son, Jack of Waterloo; two daughters, Gail A. Sims of Hazelton and Rhonda L. Hruska of LaPorte City; seven grandchildren; one great granddaughter; two brothers, John D. of Oelwein and Lester L. of Waterloo; and six sisters, Margaret J. Kauten and Donna E. Brown, both of Independence, Deloris M. Teepe of Maynard, Helen A. Teepe of Oelwein, Inus M. Sankey of Cedar Falls and Patricia J. Brown of Waterloo. She was preceded in death by a brother, Donald; and a sister, Dorothy. Memorial services were held Monday, April 15, at Reams, Huisman-Schumacher Funeral Chapel on Kimball, with burial in Cedar Valley Cemetery, Cedar Falls.
