This bronze, free-standing sculpture weighs between 800-1,000 pounds and will tarnish green as it weathers to fit in with its natural surroundings. The sculpture represents conceptual ideas rather than an exact figure. Jason Sweet, who received his B.A. in Art from UNI in 1995, designed the sculpture. He stated that he wanted it to be "a play on organic, environmental, and architectural elements" (Northern Iowan, 8/30/94). Sweet was awarded the commission for this project through a contest open to all students. Although he was given money for his work, he says that all of it went back into buying supplies to create it. He is shown in the photo to the right at work on the piece.
