Highlight: COVID-19 Community Archiving
Special Collections & University Archives has launched a community archiving project to document experiences of the UNI and broader Cedar Valley community during the coronavirus outbreak of 2020 (COVID-19). You can submit stories, reflections, links, photographs, videos, and other files that capture your experience relating to COVID-19 using this google form. Please note that while there are file size limits in this form (up to 100 MB), you can submit as many individual submissions as you'd like!
Do you manage a website that documents UNI and Cedar Valley experiences during this pandemic? Please email the link to libarchives@uni.edu and we will consider it in our web archiving initiatives.
Do you have physical materials that you want to donate to SC&UA that capture your COVID-19 experience? Please email libarchives@uni.edu to further discuss donations of physical materials. We can begin to make plans and coordinate donations once Rod Library reopens to the public.
SC&UA believes that is important to document this situation now so that future researchers will be able to look back and understand decisions and changes that have been made, big and small, and more generally to contextualize what people today are going through. We are hopeful that we can capture stories from students, faculty, staff, and folks throughout the community in a variety of formats that reflect the array of challenges and moments of hope and creative (virtual) togetherness that we're experiencing.
Please contact University Archivist Jaycie Vos at jaycie.vos@uni.edu with any questions, suggestions, or concerns.
