Tim Merrick Timothy “Tim” Merrick, 56, of Washburn, died Saturday, August 8, 2015, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo, of cancer. He was born March 31, 1959, at St. Francis Hospital, Waterloo, to Charles and Gladys White Merrick. He married MeriAnn Hilton on June 30, 1979. Tim graduated from East High School in 1977. He worked for the University of Northern Iowa at the Physical Plant in the Transportation Department as a mechanic. Survived by: his wife; a son, Dustin (Brittney) Merrick; and four granddaughters, Abby, Emma, Emeri, and Elliana Merrick; three brothers, Donald, Paul, and Mike (Betsy) Merrick; and a sister, Cathy Pecenka. Preceded in death by: his parents; and a sister, Mona Bebout. Services: 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, Waterloo. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, August 11, 2015, at the funeral home. Memorials: may be directed to the family. He also had a love for cars and Harley Davidsons and for spending time with his family. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Tim will be missed by all who knew him.
