Myers, 59, died of acute renal failure at St. Francis Hospital at approximately 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 2. He began working for UNI in 1965 and was an equipment operator in Plant Services prior to becoming disabled in 1980. Funeral services will be on Friday, September 5, at 1:30 p.m. at the Hope Reformed Church in Parkersburg. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Richardson Funeral Home in Cedar Falls. The memorial fund is to the Kidney Foundation. Thomas was born August 10, 1927, at Clemons, Iowa, the son of John Henry Myers and Irene Anderson Myers. He was married on June 20, 1945, at Stout, Iowa. He has lived in Parkersburg since 1975 and prior to that lived in Stout. He was a member of the Hope Reformed Church. Thomas is survived by his wife, Lillian; five children, Eldon, Parkersburg; Leonard, Parkersburg; Daryl, Parkersburg; Mrs. Arlene Beenken, Grundy Center; and Mrs. Betty Mulder, Parkersburg. Also surviving Thomas Myers are a brother, Clyde Myers, Clearfield, Utah; a half-sister, Sally Ver Steeg, Cedar Falls; and a half-brother, John Myers, Cedar Falls. He had thirteen grandchildren.
