Harden, M.D., University Health Services SUBJECT: Obituary Notice DATE: July 16, 1997 Phyllis Bolte, R.N., Nursing Coordinator at the UNI Health Center, died Saturday, July 12, 1997. Phyllis began her career at UNI on October 18, 1972, as a night nurse for the Health Center Infirmary. She held a nursing position until she accepted the position of Nursing Coordinator in August of 1995. She was born February 22, 1940, in Sumner, daughter of Elmer and Marie Happel Schnadt. She married Ralph Bolte on September 2, 1962, in Sumner. Phyllis is survived by her husband; two daughters, Lynn Anderson of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, and Wanda S. Walsh of White Bear Lake, Minnesota; a son, Dean of Minneapolis; four grandchildren; her father and two brothers of Sumner. Phyllis received her twenty-five year service pin in the spring of 1997. She received a letter from President Koob in June notifying her that she had been awarded the 1997 Regents Staff Excellence Award. However, the awards will be presented in a public board meeting in September and her award will be presented posthumously. Services were held Tuesday, July 15, at Nazareth Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls, with burial in Fairview Cemetery.
