Maxine Mayo Maxine D. Mayo, 90, Cedar Falls, died Sunday, February 7, 2010, at Western Home Communities Martin Center. She was born December 25, 1919, in Arcadia, Indiana, daughter of John and Mandie Cordon Bows. She married Leo "Curley" Mayo on November 19, 1943, in Waterloo. He died July 21, 1959. A graduate of Waterloo West High School, Mrs. Mayo was employed with Northwestern Bell Telephone Company, Black Hawk County Courthouse, and the University of Northern Iowa before retiring. Survived by: a daughter, Sandra Runyan of Cedar Falls; a son Gary (Joanne) of Cedar Falls; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Preceded in death: by a sister. Services: 1:30 p.m, Thursday at the Western Home Chapel with burial in Greenwood Cemetery.
