     Leonard Lahmon Leonard Lahmon, 85, of New Hartford, died Wednesday, March 24, 2004, at Windsor Care Center, Cedar Falls, of natural causes. He was born June 23, 1918, in Clarksville, son of James L. and Eva Stella Brown Lahmon. He married Flora V. Case on April 3, 1939, in Cedar Heights. She died February 23, 1990. Mr. Lahmon worked as a brick tender for Pieper & Rasmussen, Cedar Falls. In 1940, he went to work driving a truck for C. E. "Bud" Shannon; served in the U .S. Army overseas; in 1948 went to work as a corn sheller for New Hartford Elevator; and in 1966 went to work as a custodian for Iowa State Teachers College (UNI), Cedar Falls, retiring in the late 1980s. Survivors include: three daughters, Patty Powers of West Des Moines, Betty (James) Heideman of New Hartford and Joann of Allison; a son, Robert (Susan) of New Hartford; eleven grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Dunfee of Waterloo; and a brother, Lewis (Ruth) of Osakis, Minnesota. Preceded in death by: two sisters, Leola Chamberlain and Lillian Eyegabroad; and five brothers, Lyle, Leslie, Leo, Leon, and Alonzo "Lonnie." Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Waverly, followed by cremation. Inurnment will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday in Oak Hill Cemetery, New Hartford.
