Laura S. Hartwell, 98, of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, formerly of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, April 18, 2007, at Shorehaven Health Center, Oconomowoc.
She was born August 6, 1908, in Richwood, Wisconsin, daughter of Emit E. and Linda Behncke Strohbusch. She married Frank C. Hartwell October 12, 1935, in Oconomowoc. He preceded her in death December 7, 1967.
She had been employed as an administrative assistant to the vice president of academic affairs at the University of Northern Iowa for nineteen years, retiring July 7, 1972.
Survived by: a nephew, LeRoy Strohbusch of Altoona, Wisconsin; grand-nieces and grand-nephews; and other relatives.
Preceded in death by: three brothers, Richard, Hugo, and Lester; a niece, Betty Kucckan; and two nephews, Richard Strohbusch, Jr., and Kenneth Strohbusch
Services: 1 p.m. today at Hafemeister Funeral Home, Watertown, Wisconsin, with burial at 1 p.m., Monday at Fairview Cemetery, Cedar Falls. Public visitation for an hour before services today at the funeral home.
