Randall, 74, died of natural causes on Tuesday, June 16, 1992, at the Covenant Medical Center hospice unit. L. J. began his career at UNI on October 12, 1970, and worked as a painter. He retired from UNI in 1986 after having been on the long-term disability program for several years. Services will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 18, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. L. J. was born on October 12, 1917, in Rowley, son of Linn and Elizabeth Livingston Randall. He married Avanell M. Stohr on June 22, 1940, in Independence. She died in 1990. Survivors include two daughters, Diana Hickman and Karon Gram, both of Waterloo; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Kathleen Pallia of Fairfax, Virginia; and three brothers, Richard of Kenosha, Wisconsin, Eugene of Camarillo, California, and David of Independence; he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and James. Memorials may be made to Cedar Valley Hospice or St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
