Dr. John Wesley Charles, Professor of Education at State College of Iowa from September 1916 to November 1948, passed away last night, September 8, 1965, at the home of his son, John Forest Charles, who lives at 115 Main Street, North Kingston, Rhode Island.
Dr. Charles served the college faithfully and well over the years, and after his retirement made many return visits to his friends and to the college at Cedar Falls.
The funeral service for Dr. Charles will be held Monday morning at 11:00 in the Dahl Funeral Home, Cedar Falls.
John Forest Charles will be with Dr. and Mrs. E. L. Ritter, 2223 Clay Street, on Sunday and Monday.
The flag will be carried at half-mast during Monday morning in respect to the memory of Dr. Charles.
