Jeannette Rogers Potter Peterson

Jeannette Potter Peterson, 95, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, November 25, 2002, at Rosewood Estates, Waterloo. She was born January 13, 1907, in Dunlap, daughter of Edward I. and Saddie May Wright Rogers. She married Donald K. Potter November 27,1929, in Nashua; he died January 28, 1931. She then married Clarence T. "Pete" Peterson August 13, 1978, in Cedar Falls. He died December 11, 1991. Dr. Peterson received both her two-year teaching certificate and bachelor of arts degree from Iowa State Teachers College, now the University of Northern Iowa; her master of arts degree from the University of Wisconsin; and her doctorate of education from the University of Oregon. She was employed at UNI as a professor in the physical education department from 1955 until her retirement in 1975. Survived by: a son, Donald K. II (Georgia) Potter of Waterloo; a grandson, Donald K. III (Jeanette) Potter of Des Moines; and a great-grandson, Donald K. Potter IV of Des Moines. Preceded in death by: a brother; Ted Rogers; and two sisters. Marjorie Sauer and Irene Motter. Services: 11 a.m. Monday at the United Church of Christ, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Friends may call from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Richardson Funeral Home, with the family present 2 to 4 p.m., and for an hour before services Monday at the church.
