James M. Jones

College of Business and Behavioral Sciences Office of the Dean July 6, 1976 Dr. James M. Jones, Associate Professor of Psychology, was killed in a motorcycle accident Thursday, July 1, in Broken Bow, Nebraska. His wife, Susan, who was riding with him was also injured and is listed in satisfactory condition in the Jenny M. Melham Medical Center in Broken Bow. Dr. Jones joined the Department of Psychology in the fall of 1969. A social psychologist, he taught courses in his specialty as well as in personality theory and assessment, and in introductory psychology. He was a careful and productive researcher, publishing ten articles in professional journals since he came to UNI in 1969. He was also an active and conscientious member of the department; his concerns and insights will be missed. He was born on November 1, 1939, in Oklahoma City and received his B.A., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 8 at Mayes Funeral Home in Norman, Oklahoma.
