Hilda H. Miller; 86, of Waterloo, formerly of Dike, died Sunday, May 23, 2003, at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center, Waterloo. She was born February 5, 1918, in New Hartford, daughter of Peter and Grace Freese Pruisner. She married Lyman C. Miller on June 28, 1940, in rural Fern. He died May 14, 1961. Mrs. Miller had operated a beauty shop out of her home in Dike until 1968, then worked in housekeeping at the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, retiring in 1975. Survivors include: a daughter, Becky (Doug) Bruce of Cedar Falls; two sons, Randy (Pat) of Davenport and Loren (Bobby) of Oakwood, Texas; ten grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Ernie (Dee) Pruisner of Sumner. Preceded in death by: an infant daughter, Michelle; two brothers, Henry and Peter Pruisner, Jr.; and a sister, Rene Randall. Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at United Methodist Church, with burial in Elmwood Cemetery, both in Dike. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Richardson Funeral Home, Cedar Falls, and for an hour before services Wednesday at the church. Memorials: may be directed to the church.
