Grace Ann Hovet, 70, formerly of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, March 15, 2008, at Duke University Hospital, Durham, North Carolina.
Dr. Hovet was a professor and administrator at the University of Northern Iowa from 1969 to 1999, where, in addition to her teaching and service in the Department of English, she co-founded the women's studies program and founded the leadership studies program. In 1999, she retired to North Carolina with her husband.
She is survived by her husband, Theodore of Durham, and her son, Ted, Jr., of Bowling Green, Kentucky. She is also survived by four sisters and two brothers.
