Gloria N. Ihnen

       Gloria Ihnen Gloria N. Ihnen, 80, of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, September 3, 2013, at Allen Hospital, Waterloo. She was born December 21, 1932, in Mason City, daughter of Alfred and Milda Dahlstrom Kalvig.  She married Joseph Mullesch on September 21, 1949, in Nashua, and they later divorced.  She married Marv Ihnen on March 19, 1975, in Cedar Falls. Mrs. Ihnen worked in the restaurant business, having managed the Convair Room, the Olde Broom Factory, the East 18th Street Athletic Club, and the Royal Oak Dining Room at UNI until owning and operating a restaurant in the Black Hawk Hotel.  She retired in 1993. She served as auxiliary president for five years at Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49, as well as being in charge of the White Clover Drive and serving as chairman of the Scholarship Committee. Survived by: her husband; four sons, Gary (Lorraine) Ihnen of Cedar Falls, Ray (Teresa Kaye) Mullesch of Waterloo, Pete (Kelly) Mullesch of Silvas, Illinois, and Larry (Lori) Mullesch of Rock Falls, Illinois; four daughters, Barb Kruse, Anne Stratton, and Milda Mullesch, all of Cedar Falls, and Chris Floss of Dike; seventeen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Melvin (Maxine) Kalvig of Ionia and Leo (Darlene) Kalvig of La Porte City; and a sister, Adala Springmeir of New Hampton. Preceded in death by:  her parents; a son-in-law, Gene Kruse; three grandchildren, Michael, Karrie, and Ava; two brothers, Melford and Lester Kalvig; and a brother-in-law, Russell Springmeir. Services:  10 a.m. Saturday at St. John Lutheran Church, with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls.  Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and an hour before services Saturday at the church.
